Does it get any better or is this overhyped comedy book?
I'm about 50 page in and it's just bad joke after bad joke.

Been trying to shill this one here for a bit. It's a mix of mystery and weird/science fiction.
In the world of this book, the beliefs of every cult are true (maybe) and a massive holy war breaks out between them after one cult's giant squid (which is their god (maybe)) gets stolen.

Check this one out. Mieville explores the growing lack of faith in the West, but in the context of a war breaking out between cults.

First Mieville I read and it was a major let down. The first 50 pages or so were good, but then it becomes a shitty CBS show with embarrassing characters and humor. I stopped around the half way mark.

My question: other than Lovecraft, are there any good books about squid cults?
