It causes Duncan Idaho to fly into a murderous rage after he spots two lesbians kissing. In his personal correspondence he was homophobic as well up to and including theorizing that homosexuality was a symptom of or related to bureaucracy. He believed the two were linked. GE of dune isn’t even old. It was released in 1981
