So as far as psychonanalytic criticism is concerned I guess the scenes within the movie would have to be closely scrutinized to determine how they reflected the minds of the characters (use your discretion); and if you wanted to go further, how the characters and settings and their combination in the plot reflect the minds or values of the filmmaker/ writer.
