Does China Mieville belong in these threads?

Embassytown and The City and the City are some of the most interesting books I've read in the last few years. City isn't really sci-fi, but it fits somehow, and Embassytown certainly is.

How're his other novels? Kraken sounds like it could be a trip, but the premise seems stupid rather than fascinating--maybe that's the point? What about the series with Perdido Street Station? Is it comparable to anything?

He also has some short fiction, but I don't know much about that. I wish he'd put out another novel, but he hasn't for a few years. Just a couple novellas.
