Stendhals "The Black and the White" or Flauberts "Madame Bovary".
I need to read one and I'm not just asking which one is the shortest. Which of the two is a more interesting read, has better characters etc.

Hey /lit/ this is my first time here. So for my English class, I need to write a fairy tale. I'm planning on making illustrations with it too. So do you have some good ideas or suggestions? The assignment says I can also use an existing fairytale and change parts of it.

I know this isn't really /lit/ quality but I don't think /b/ will be able to help me with this one.
