Note the list of CSS rules at the top of the file (when viewed in a text editor). These allow lots of fancy styling (including some limited interactivity: show or hide footnotes, increase or decrease font size, switch to serif or sans-serif font family, etc.), WITHOUT the bloated, non-book-like Javascript that so many "modern" Web pages rely on.

I'm currently typing up an HTML edition of For Want of a Nail (by Robert Sobel). In particular, I have reworked the rather disgusting citation format into something much more legible.
So far, I've finished eleven of thirty-eight chapters.
