Borghfreen Croughn was a friend of mine. He lived on the low spot of a valley that curved into the shore of the lake. A lake with a beach made of pebbles and rocks, coloured gray. I would take psilocybin and three sleeping pills, at least 5 shots of rum. I would tape and strap painting supplies to my arms, canvas to my back. I would emerge from the blackout on the shore with the round sun shinning parallel into my red lids. Scrape paint and lines of ink into the canvas before the drugs wear off. Sell them at the local open air market. Feelin good.
