Which books will help me to give up porn and fapping for life?

I almost exclusively read Japanese literature. This is not due to the quality of Japanese literature being superior, as I do not think that is true, but rather because I feel completely alienated from western literature. I simply cannot enjoy it or find any interest in it, no matter what the work in question is. Any time I read a synopsis of a western book I feel an overwhelming disinterest, almost to the point of physical illness. The last thing I attempted to read was a work be Cioran. I flipped to a random page and started to read. As soon as he started talking about Jesus I was once again overwhelmed by this feeling and had to put the book down -- I could not continue.

I've considered the reasons that this might be so and I think there are two possibilities. One is that I feel completely alienated from my own civilization. Any expression of that civilization resonates in my only as emptiness and banality. Or the other, that I unconsciously perceive this civilization as "dead," and I can't bring myself to bother examining its dying breaths or its death artifacts. Regardless of the case, I need to read something that is alien to this place, but not so alien that I cannot comprehend it, which makes Japanese literature quite suitable. I don't watch anime or any such vulgar things, so it's not an extension of that. At this point I'm considering making a serious effort at learning the language; why not?

The vast majority of people on here whining about normies would have gotten married without too much trouble if they had been born 100 years ago. Likewise with having a social circle. Even megaspergs like H.P. Lovecraft managed to get married and have friends back then. I think you're putting too much emphasis on something that has changed with the times. If anything, what the book should tell you is that having those things in your life isn't going to magically make you happy or fix your problems. Ironically, someone who would be happy just from those things is in the same camp as normies, since they have no deeper disconnect from the world.

It's almost like having sex doesn't necessarily make you happy or something.

I find it really comfy and loved the cats owners witty/sardonic friend who I always pictured as looking like pic related but I'm not sure what he's name was.
Don't remember all that much to be honest except for a part where somebody thinks he sees a girl commit suicide or something like that.
