I don't mean silly shock horror, as in gore reads, I mean as in genuinely scary reads.

I personally enjoyed Haunting of Hill House, The Monkey, The Mist (haters gonna hate), House of Leaves, The Terror, I have no mouth and I must Scream, and a few others. I've found it hard to find good reads. Most (for sure King) have terrible endings that ruin the entire book.

What were your favorite horror reads? Pic is mainly to get attention.
