Books that are meta-realistic? In other words, fiction books heavily influenced by pop culture & real-world events which in turn subsequently spawn underground subcultures? Think of books like picrelated, House of Leaves by MZD, Watchmen by Moore, Fear and Loathing by HST, Gravity's Rainbow by you know who, Junkie by Burroughs, On the Road by Kerouac, Philip K. Dick in general – stuff like that.

The Illuminatus! Trilogy. The schizo ramblings are fun but the real highlight of the book is the smut. RAW 's years at Playboy definitely honed his craft.

if you want something with a more broad scale, sense of humor, and sci-fi elements, look into the Illuminatus! trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson. it's basically a "what if" scenario where every conspiracy is simultaneously true and untrue.

This is the most boomer shit I've ever read, nothing but generic "authority bad" griping, nothing anyone else is grounded in any ideological or economic critique, it's all just "muh feels"

What do anons think of this book? It wasn't my cup of tea, but it has some good moments to it.

I finished pic related a few days ago. I think my bar for literature has risen. I'm a bit of a /lit/ pleb but I legitimately don't know what book will satisfy me after this. With their linear plots and such... help me guys. Do I read more RAW, check out Joyce, or is this a dark path I'm going down

Pic related. It's long, dated, difficult to follow, pretty sexist, and 1/3 of the plot is an over-the-top parody of Atlas Shrugged that's only funny if you've read Atlas Shrugged. But damn if I didn't love it.
