and so the atheist exists the dialogue, asserting nothing, with his tail between his legs just as he turned with his tail between his legs towards sin and away from god.

a tale as old as time

>And the pasch of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
And he found in the temple them that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting
And when he had made, as it were, a scourge of little cords, he drove them all out of the temple, the sheep also and the oxen, and the money of the changers he poured out, and the tables he overthrew.
And to them that sold doves he said: "Take these things hence, and make not the house of my Father a house of traffic."

Why when you make a list of your pros and cons some of your cons are in your pros and some of your pros are in your cons?

Also is there free will. Can I really change my whole life if I wanted to. If I don't I was fate and if I do it was fate. Seems like fate is whatever happens at the time.

After years of introspective thinking and consideration I have come a conclusion that the only cure for my nihilism and finding meaning is for me to embrace tradition and reject modernism. I have found that religion is a huge part of traditional values and would like to turn to "God" for answers. That being said, which is the best version of The Bible?

The soul does not exist from the beginning as orthodox Christianity teaches; it has to be brought into existence by a process of guided self-observation.
However, this is rarely achieved owing to man’s unique ability to be distracted from spiritual matters by everyday trivia.

Douglas Hofstadter also wrote this idea, that the idea of 'I' comes about by depth of self-reference a mind is able to achieve. He plays around in GEB that the more self-referential cycles one is able to contemplate, the more of a soul. In fact, most of history's greatest thinkers recommend spending time alone contemplating, which leads us to the crux of the biscuit;

Women don't spend nearly as much time alone as men.

A man, left to his own devices, will spend time thinking about things and solving internal puzzles (incidentally, this is why video games sell much better with men; giving them interactive problems to solve is considered a good distraction). A man can sit there and think about things he can't see until he's blue in the face, which, ignoring historical sexism, most scientist, philosophers and engineers have been men. They simply have the patience for these problems. This drive, turned inwards to become self-reflection, is what causes men to have more of an aptitude towards a soul.

A women, on the other hand, left by herself, will seek out relationships to invest in, either in real life or in fiction (see summer romance novels and soap operas). Many women contemplate no deeper than 'what needs to happen immediately for everyone to look like they're getting along?'. The constant need for positive relationships leaves little time to meditate, leading to the lack of soul growth.

>tl;dr; souls are created by self-reflection, men self-reflect more than women because they like to solve problems and have more time alone.

I don't think the government should force anyone to do anything, but that doesn't mean what you do isn't wrong. Two siblings can do all they want together but they won't be free from the consequences, in this life or after.

Jordan Peterson says he's a centrist or a classic liberal, but he has a very strong Christian hedgehog bias that came from the radical-conservatives of Tolstoy's time.
Classical liberalism opposed the power of the aristocracy, questioned the structures of society, but Peterson defends the structures and the aristocracy.
He has a very strong post-revolution Roman Catholic edge, alongside a French radical-conservative philosophy that he caught from Tolstoy and other Russian intellectuals who loved Maistre and other European conservative refugees. Maistre saw history as perpetual act of murder since the fall of established structures, and human beings as being ruled by an inherent nature, believed that divine characteristics are often being used to justify murderous mass movements pretending to be like Christianity, in a natural desire for self-immolation, that natural forces trump all intellect, in a necessity to circumvent people from becoming violent before it explodes, and a disdain for the intellectuals as a sect of questioners undermining the structures of western civilization. This last idea is an idea invented by the Roman Catholic intellectuals after the French revolution, who believed that the revolution had been a divine punishment for abandoning Christian values. Intellectuals were deliberately trying to destroy Christian civilization according to these Catholics, and launched an idea of a western world in rapid decay that needed to be saved. Maistre was also obsessed with the nature of war, and believed that war had no gain except for human beings to let out their primal instincts, this is how Jordan Peterson for example sees Nazi Germany, but his views on this dictatorship are downright dangerous.

The extermination of the jews and those of others served as an increase in income and the amount of food that could be distributed because there were far less mouths to feed, similar to the black death.
Then there is the theft of Jewish assets, which amounted to 10-15 billion dollars, which in modern times amount to about 215 billion.
This should be considered the minimal amount because it doesn't consider earnings from financial holdings or higher real estate values, which most likely would more than double the entire estimated range.
There are also the deliberate famines such as the Greek famine and other forms of extortion that centralized resources from other countries into Germany.
The reason Hitler pushed for genocide even when losing was simply the fact that to win meant to enact genocide on the Jewish population according to Nazi ideology.
To kill Jews meant killing opposition, and when opposition became impossible to kill, accelerating the systematic murder of Jews meant the extermination of the enemy.

not him but it had been happening for a while for me. I was raised Jewish and taught that Jesus was just a man. After having read Dostoevsky and by boy Kierk I was fully convinced of the truth. When I was a kid I was always incredibly empathetic and good natured but as I grew older and more edgy in my atheism phase I became completely apathetic and lost. Life lost its meaning and I felt completely alone in the world. One night I had stumbled across this video and I just completely broke down. I know its soppy crap but it really hit me at that moment.
