I just got to college, and I am reading Locke for the first time for an essay I have to write.

I'm really surprised how anarchist this dude is. Has anyone else got that vibe? By God, he makes sense though. The American revolution was pretty much started by these principles, but a lot of time has passed an tyranny seems like it may be just around the corner (if not already prevalent?). His closing line is "the end of government is the good of mankind". I'm not trying to get any stupid ideas here.

Anyone care to discuss Locke or anarchy or whatever?

Is anarchism just something for overly idealistic hippies or chaotic juvenile punks, or can it actually work?

What (or who's?) literature should I read to get a good impression about what is supposed to happen in an anarchist "region" in theory. As in, what will stop people from recreating 'states' within the region? and what will keep some form of economy intact (instead of all out looting). Among many other questions I have.

TL;DR: Literature on the political theory of anarchism.

Never hung out on this board before, so I don't know your preferences in fiction, but here is a book tip from me to you

Little Brother by Cory Doctorow.

Kind of a teenage book, but awesome nontheless.
pic not related.
