I used to smoke nicotine. I thought that was helping me but really it was more of a distraction unless I was chainsmoking.

Now I smoke very small quantities of ganja, think like 1/4th of a bowl. This prevents my short term memory from getting shot and keeps me in a contemplative mood. Reading like this is ultra comfy for me.

If you really must smoke nicotine while reading, a long cigar is really the way to go. You don't have to constantly relight and empty it like a pipe and you can really gnaw on it for extra juice. I recomend a nice Romeo y Julieta as your starter.

First of all, shoot yourself for being a twitter poster. Second of all, what Dawkins is describing here is a belief that literally persisted into the 20th century and did not necessarily originate with Plato.

Finally, yes, it can be resolved with an experiment but why would you test something so "obvious"?
