Really I think it's interesting so many people feel the need to deride a man whose work receives hardly any publicity to start with. Interesting for the fact that characters in his stories are often depicted as mocking his views in an effort to distract themselves from certain realities that would otherwise smother their sanity.

Slowly dying of boredom, loneliness, lack of ambition. I find it overwhelmingly difficult to relate to people. I have no desire to succeed in a culture I abhor. Being alive is tiresome, but being dead is a bottomless horror.
