i've worked in tech investment, communcations/PR/campaign management, and have taught briefly as an academic. i retired from virtually all of that in 2016--diagnosed with cancer, still have, it, etc. doing well, though. as bizarre as it sounds, i've basically retreated from the world with my wife unto my estate and just read and write all day. my library is and does exactly what it says; i digest and abridge a lot of material, as well as pursue my own edification.

i see the purpose of the library as a set of concentric circles. the first and foremost is the material benefit for myself, my wife and my family. i can read/reference virtually anything i want, and i absolutely love that. education stands as a core pillar of what i take as "living well" on a personal, hearth level.
the second circle is political. i offer the libraries resources to high-end politicians and academics looking for real depth in topic-specific knowledge, usually oriented toward some type of political action. i take this project as non-partisan; it is truly open to any and all who seek legitimate academic or political ends.
related to this, and part of this second circle, is the personal hope to provide a new intellectual basis for the conservative right. i am what you might call a more "old-school" conservative; what i see around me is...disappointing. i seek to eventually provide an alternative--not a series of illusions or tricks, but real, foundational resources for a revitalized right. i am almost to the point of offering this program more fully/explicitly--at this point its just a logistical matter of getting all the ducks in order.

Just call it straight up Hellenism. Stuff with "neo" always sounds gay.

This is just the first draft of the religion and I've never done this before so feel free to make edits or suggestions.
>Sort of a head of the church (but not really) will be the Oracle of Denver
>She has to be a virgin, and gives a prophecy after a dmt trip if you make a proper donation to her, her followers will be a group of Vestal Vrigins that tend to the eternal hearth, one of which will be selected to be the next oracle
>each city/region will have a temple centered around a certain god Zeus is seen as the preeminent god but is not the only one worshiped
>there will be a cult of heroism and bravery centered around Alexander the Great and the heroes of mythology
>along with this cult of heroism will be a rite of passage at the age of 15 (the age you became man in sparta)
>undetermined right now what the rite of passage would be
>women are encouraged to be fertile and good mothers that are not expected to hold a job
>everyone is expected at some point to marry and have lots of children but its acceptable to bang dudes if you are never the bottom
>if you are ever a bottom you get excommunicated
>there are seasonal festivals that everyone has to attend
>theres also a critical understanding of the balance between nature and civilization within the religion
>at some point we'll seek to gain our own state and creat a nation based off of Hellenism
Thoughts?

>you will never be a mythical hero
>you will never follow some heroic journey
>you will never be taken in by a wise old man, fight fantastical monsters, or acquire the love of a beautiful princess
>no one will record your deeds into poetry for your nation's descendants to recall for inspiration

Even 50 years ago I could at least sign up to become a mercenary in Africa. For hundreds of years before you could sign up to go and settle one of many European colony. Before that there was even greater availability for adventure when even most of Europe was wild. Back in the fucking bronze age there were even still lions across Europe and the Near East.

What is the point of these meaningless lives now that the dream of adventure for young men is dead? The closest we can come to actual adventure is either serving Israel in the military or larping with a bunch of guides on mountain treks thousands have already taken the glory in. Older guys talk about there college days as being the most exciting of their lives. As a college guy myself I see this as being incredibly pathetic and depressing. There is no great glory in drinking with your friends or trying to smash whores. This is the comfy womb what heroes tried to get away from. They might come back to being kings and do this but they wanted greater things. I want greater things. After this I'm just supposed to waste away my life being a work cuck? And these wasted nights on weekends are the best I can expect?

How am I just supposed to accept that there is no possibility for genuine adventure unless society collapses (which I hope it does)?
