This state of mind is absolutely dependent upon exterior manipulation. When ones mind is solely focused on the exterior manifold forms, especially the ones presented to the individual through corrupt media outlets, one can not connect with one's inner self. When one can not truly make this connection, he suffers. He suffers and he doesn't know why he suffers. He suffers because he does not KNOW himself and his potentialities, but only through the limited lens of others that is being pushed upon him.
The only way to counteract this is to take time to reflect in a QUIET and CONSTRUCTIVE manner. This means cutting oneself off from all these exterior forms and concepts and seeking the interior of ones own mind. Within the limited confines of the industrial urban setting, this is easier said than done. Getting away from the complexities of the technological identity-fueled chaos is essential to the overcoming of hopelessness brought about by a materialist lifestyle.
