I think I'm still going to continue to see a girl who said to me:
>"I stopped reading Lolita after a chapter. The writer is too pretentious and takes two whole sentences to explain the color blue".
But I think there's truth to not having a lit gf. Would I really want one? Is it better to not have a lit gf?

Any woman would love The Great Gatsby, especially if they've also seen the movie. Lolita as well but thats a bit harder to recommend to her since you're a guy.
Good luck trying to get your gf to read anything philosophical. Your best bet is some books off the /lit/ starter pack.
Remember, women love drama and the relationships between characters. Most women have short attention spans, most if not all of them being heavy consumers who are on instagram and tiktok nearly all of the day, they will probably get bored if it doesn't immediately capture their attention with an intriguing plot. It helps if they have heard of the book before or are familiar with the plot already. Books that have movies are probably the easiest to get her to read.
