/lit/ - Literature

I've never read a cormac mccarthy novel nor will I ever

/lit/ won't read any new books because they're afraid they won't seem intellectual. They have a need to appear to their peers as the most well read and rounded literary enthusiasts. Reading anything published in the last ten years won't gain them any recognition as with most new literature it doesn't have the recognition nor the reputation of older books.

>Me won't read new things because most people won't know how smart I am. If me tell others I only read old literature, granted it's still phenomenal, me won't appear smart smart and that would defeat the purpose of me looking smart smart and smarterer than other people.
