>It is the third most cited book in the social sciences published before 1950, behind Marx's Capital and The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith.

Some Austrian economists are much better than others. It's easy to see who are politically motivated and who are not.

Good ones:

Karl Menger
Friedrich von Hayek

Bad ones:
Ludwig von Mises
Murray Rothbard
Milton Friedman

I actually can't believe how stupid /lit/ is when it comes to economics.

Just like how everyone reads Plato and not Aristotle. Just sheer proof that just because people are reading a book doesn't mean they have the capacity to think hard about things. :3

Currently reading:

Schumpeter - Capitalism, Socialism, and Democracy
Ptolemy - The Almagest
Tocqueville - Democracy In America
Aristotle - Prior Analytics

Ordered/Coming up next:

Book I of Witelo's Perspectiva ($300)
Morgenstern - On the Accuracy of Economic Observations ($30)
Alhacen - On the Configuration of the World ($40)
Smith - Theory of Moral Sentiments ($5)

And I'm not ordering or buying anything for Aristotle for a little while. I'm going to finish up the Organon and then read Nicomachean Ethics. I'm thinking about reading Politics after that and will go into Thucydides History of the Peloponnisian War. Seems like a good transition. :3

Who has important things to say on socialism. Butterfly, when you are finished masturbating you should consider this: if I can read from all perspectives: liberals, marxists, Marx himself, scientific economists, etc then why can’t you? Why pigeonhole yourself into one ideology? You are simply proving Schumpeter right by not reading his book. I mean, he even wrote on socialism
