Chances are you already enjoy poetry.

Also, you don't start with shitty free form beat poetry nonsense. For now, for you, poetry is iambic or trochaic.

If you're German, just start with pic related.

Another tip: Stick with an author. Chances are you won't get the meaning of a poem from reading just it, you'll need to get to know the author's work to learn what certain words mean in certain contexts.
