So /lit/, I turned 24 today. (Bear with me, I swear it's on topic.)
I'm still a kissless virgin, and none of my friends live near me so really I only hang out with 4chan, and even then I'm more of a lurker.

In light of that, I've been thinking about the first part of 2666 when the two guys realize that they can never be happy just deconstructing literature and that they need love instead.

Accordingly I was wondering what you guys think the limits of literature are. To what extent can it bring one happiness, and to what extent can happiness only be found in other people? Is looking to others even a reasonable goal for people like me who are anti-social and in love with their own sadness, mistakenly thinking that suffering makes us better than others, or is suicide the only real option?

Sorry for the self-pitying, I'm pretty tipsy.
