so... people should only join religions they disagree with? I'm a strong atheist and it would take some pretty hardcore shit, like angels shooting lava out of their dicks while refuting descartes, to get me to believe in god. I made this thread because I'm interesting in Sikhism, but not because I'm interested in converting to it.

protip: specialist is one rank above private first class aka grunt, that guy didn't even make sergeant. he dabbled in the army for four years and never had a leadership position as an NCO, so either a) he didn't have what it takes, or b) he was a welfare queen who just joined the army for college money and didn't give a shit about his performance as a soldier. this is a far cry from "badass", and a regular airborne unit isn't going to make you a good fighter. if you couldn't fight before you joined the army, you won't know how to fight when you leave unless you take civilian classes or something

and 82nd is an airborne division, big deal. just about anybody in the army can go airborne, all you have to do is jump out of an airplane, you don't even have to be in shape or have a good record, they take pretty much whoever is eligible to sign up
