What's some adventure fantasy that's competently written and has engaging prose? I've been rereading the Legend of Drizzt, which I used to love as a kid. Salvatore's writing is so clunky, though, and he reuses phrases like "blades appearing in hands" ad nauseum. Is there anything that captures a similar feeling to the Legend of Drizzt or Dragonlance, but is written by someone who actually knows what they're doing?
