Download the Kindle 1.17 PC app from that link, then disable auto updates in the Options and login to your account. Select Download from the right-click menu on your book(s). This should dump it in .azw format in
>~/Users/"Username"/My Documents/My Kindle Content
(with path differing by Windows version).
The filename will be obscured: random_gibberish.azw.
Download and open Calibre, which is the must-have desktop ebook management app. Click Add Book, navigate to the My Kindle Content folder, select the book, and Calibre will import it sans sodomy.
