I agree Sappho is overrated simply for the purpose of having one woman from Antiquity. She was still one of the greats of Greece, but you need to be the most incredible pseud to fawn at the 400 fragmentary lines that have survived of her. Her works are for all intents and purposes lost, which only allows nu-academia to put her even higher, since they can always claim she was better than all men combined without having to produce anything for it. It was totally the greatest thing ever, we just lost it. It's on the same level as wakanda tales.
