I have so many French and Russian books I want to read, but I cannot shake the feeling that they’re not authentic and a pale substitute to the original work. I stick to works written in English exclusively.

Any pessimistic literature that interprets life as being tragedy but has a hint of hope or redemption underneath all the sadness

Wagner bros, Alberich won...

>During a trip to London in 1877, Wagner lingered over the spectacle of the industrial and commercial activity spreading over the banks of the Thames and exclaimed: “It is here that Alberich’s dream has been accomplished. Nibelheim, world domination, activity, labour, everywhere one perceives the pressure of steam and fog.”
>"I hate this fast growing tendency to chain men to machines in big factories and deprive them of all joy in their efforts — the plan will lead to cheap men and cheap products."

I feel bad for writers of today, like someone I know "published" a book and it has only 1 review on amazon after 7 months, like it's just sad at least in the past you could hide behind failures or publishers would be more selective but now it's like anybody gets published if they fill a certain checklist but it just gives them false hope

I'm also lonely bros, incredibly lonely. I cope by listening to RHCP and drinking beer.
