I'm about 1/5th of the way in and I'm bored to tears. Does this get even vaguely interesting at any point?

Am I fucking stupid if I'm not completely getting this? Mainly the Dewey Dell chapters, I get that she's pregnant and Lafe is the father but not much else.

More like As I Lay Dulling! Aha. But I enjoyed it, to an extent. How about you?

Faulker has moments where his prose shines, but I didn't care for the overabundance of characters and I couldn't really understand what the hell was going on at times. I didn't realize Darl burned down the barn until they told it to me outright, probably because I didn't even know the barn was on fire until it was all over. And at what point was it mentioned that Lafe and Dewey Dell fucked?I had to get that from the Wikipedia page.

Maybe I'm just dumb.
