I'm in the process of trying to transform my style from YA to something edible. (S King level, or something ANYTHING not YA)
I told myself I'd take a break from writing to read and learn, but I feel the urge to write every day, and if I don't, I feel like I've missed a quota or failed a goal outright. Any suggestions of what to read and pull from to mend my style on the go? What I want to write is a small scifi paperback. Nothing too complex for a first book.
I learned the hard way to not make a first attempt too complex for my tiny new-author brain.
