Not american and not filtered. I've read the entire series down to the last punctuation mark of Unholy Consult more than once and more than twice. I'm a big fan of the series but I come from a romantic language speaking country, and the way Bakker goes to and fro between ch as in chapter, and ch as in Akkamian, is a bit annoying, me being a language consistency autist.
If I see someone say Achamian (Akkamian) and chapter within the same field, I would expect it to follow the language rules.
But yeah, this is more than likely done for reading visual aesthetics and I shouldn't be so annoyed by it.
