I'm honestly very out of touch with the Fantasy genre, and I'm kind of at a loss as to what epic fantasy series is actually worth investing in. If you had to suggest someone who's aching for a long, expansive, meticulously written fantasy book series with a world as huge, realised and well written as Tolkiens legendarium, what would you suggest?

Just to stress, I'm definitely not looking for a Lord of the Rings imitator, but a series that I can delve into as deeply as I can with Tolkien's world.
