I like reading Romantic and Gothic horror all throughout October and depending on my goals a bit before/beyond that. Aside from the obvious Halloween, autumn is about the liminal boundaries between life and death, pleasure and suffering, past and future, and so on and so forth.

How accurate are these genre charts on the /lit/ wiki? pic related has a lot of great stuff (Ghost Story, Haunting of Hill House, etc.) but the 21st century section especially seems weak. I rarely ever see anons speak well of Heart Shaped Box (i thought it sucked personally) and House of Leaves is kind of a meme
What's good (in your opinion) and what's not? What should be added or taken away?

Can anyone speak to the quality of this chart? I've read a few (Exorcist, Haunting of Hill House; currently reading Ghost Story) that have been pretty good but I regularly see Heart Shaped Box and A Head Full of Ghosts getting slammed on here. Is it just the modern ones that suck? I hated Heart Shaped Box
