/fit/ is a gay board. I exercise because I'm tall and have back problems if I sit all day. My research is /out/ specific, so I also need some degree of health to keep up. Working out for vanity is no less motivated than working out for self-improvement, both of which are arbitrary. You should workout because you have to, or put yourself in a position where you are required to. This is the reason /out/ is such a better board, because, if you didn't lurk, you wouldn't know about dakota fire holes and the dangers of rock cairns. At least if you're wasting your time on an actual hobby board, you're bound to see something cool that genuinely motivates you to get back on track. /fit/ is the perfect partner to /lit/ because they're anti-hobbyboards, that invert the time spent hobbying to the time spent posting. So, by all means combine, but you won't "improve" and socrates never knew the joys of lashing camp gadgets and camping out with the boys.
However, I do appreciate this board. I have logged so many recommendations after two years of casually lurking, that I'll probably never run out of things read.

Conservatism is not on a linear model. Progress and regress aren't the narrative, there were futurists who were conservatives and there are regressionists who aren't conservatives. A conservative demands a mythos, a national myth, and an authority which will halt the derascination and atomizing effects promoted by liberalism. Right-Left politics don't exist like that fren.

Again no, conservatism is not juxtaposed to progressivism. If anything you're closer with the idea of status quo/regime maintenance, but at the same time we don't live in an era where that's the case. There are no real regimes only the stagnancy that conservatives failed to prevent. We are without national myth, and therefore unable to create real conservatism, which is why it is manufactured in the west.
