good choices, pretty much any political economist deserves to be on this list especially pic related
>invents globalism
>accidentally spawns Marxism
>provides justification for imperialism
also guess what you can find in the Early life section of his Wikipedia article

Anyone who sincerely complains about "capitalism" is a socially unhygienic retard. Someone had to say it so it might as well be me, David Ricardo.

Hello, /lit/. I'm currently starting Wealth of Nations (a few pages in) with a view toward ultimately reading Capital (V.1 for now). /lit/ has indicated many times that David Ricardo is another important prerequisite to Marx. I want to read a single work by Ricardo as prep for Capital.

My question is this: what is the single best one book by Ricardo to read for this purpose? Is it "Principles Polit. Econ & Tax.", as everything is suggesting, or is there anything else? I also see this link:

https://www.marxists.org/reference/subject/economics/ricardo/tax/index.htm

If I've already gotten my question right I'd just appreciate a few affirming "yep you got it also consider xyz texts." Otherwise please let me know. I also see by checking the Capital V.1 index that the early part of The Commodity contains something amusing concerning Ricardo and a "Robinson Crusoe" metaphor/thought-experiment.
