the land is constantly quoted for different things to the detriment of the litrpg genre.
first off the book is horribly written and has popculture references galore. at one point the mc runs around shouting out "bazinga". 2/3 of the books are pretty much spreadsheets to boot. thats only a small part of issues of the books though. then there is the author. he is the sort of guy that uses dmca takedowns and sicks lawyers on bad reviews. at one point tried to trademark "litrpg" and generally refers to himself as the father of the litrpg genre.
theres plenty of reason to hate the books and the author. the land books arent really a reflection of the litrpg genre as a whole. they vary widely and most fiction that falls under that umbrella-term is more game-lit than litrpg. its basically gamelike settings but without the spreadsheets and only sporadic use of numbers and stats if any at all.
its basically the github syndrome if you are familiar with software development. github has such a huge presence that people thing git = github. eleron kong basically did that for the litrpg genre so he has a lot of presence and people think that the land is what all litrpgs are like.

have some knights working out for your pleasure.
