Has anyone here finished the entirety of In Search of Lost Time?

Is it worth it?

Is 23 too young to start reading In Search of Lost Time?

This is the greatest book I have ever read Joyce does not hold a candle to it

And if so, what did you think about it.

I've now almost read Swann's Way and I'm honestly doubting if it's worth it to read the whole thing. I probably will push through just because it will annoy me if I won't finish it, but it won't be easy.

There is some good stuff but for every good bit there are like 30 or more pages of descriptions of snobbish outdated upper class social rituals.

I though it would be exploration of memory like Alain Resnais film or something but it seems more like description of that particular segment of French society at that time and thus not that universal after all. Not really sure what Proust is tried there, is it supposed to be satire or what? Or will it all come together in Time Regained and I'll realize that all those minute descriptions of countless people and social situations were necessary after all?
