I have a dream to come as close to immortality as possible.

I plan to become a sperm donor to have as many children with as many women as possible so that my genetic line will run until the end of time.

I also plan to write books as a way of sneaking in subtle redpills and poisoning impressionable minds with my worldview and philosophies.

What are some books based around the quest for immortality?

Yeah, the few times a "world builder" manages to get just slightly competent enough to actually put out a book it's terrible, whole thing reads like some dudes private wiki that just connects one group/town/whatever to another usually with no actually decent reason to be there, many times just bring what little "story" there actually is to a complete halt to just show off another aspect of this dudes world that have basically nothing to do with the story.
I think the worst example of these I've seen is the Echoes of The Fall series, especially the first book, just dozens of instances of "and our heroes were going to do this... But then this super cool faction scooped them up so now we're gonna spend a couple chapter talking about how cool this tribe is. Alright, now back to the story, no you'll never see that group again."

Why are like 90% of all modern fantasy writers women? I'm scrolling through latest releases all over amazon and goodreads and even in book stores and it seems like the only time you see male authors is for decades old books.
Also, are any of them any good?

How often do you completely wing it /sffg/?Just walk into a bookstore with no specific book or even genre in mind and just grab something that piques your interest without looking up any info or reviews other than just the synopsis on the book?

Is it fair to say /sffg/ posters are the only folk on /lit/ who read purely because they actually enjoy reading?
