would I be a psued to read a philosophy book while eating or a bench somewhere on my campus where I obviously wont be reading for more than 1hr and will be distracted. I know your not suppose to care what people think if you just care about reading the book but I have bad anxiety or paranoia and because of this i'll be switching my position, bookhandling, breathing, glare, blinking, smiling, hair.my phone on my lap or not, help.

Anyone else get exhausted after reading 10-50~ pages of philosophy? I'm assuming its due to my bad chair/posture and attention span but I'm to use to reading 100 pages of fiction a day switching from a 100 pages of comfy writing to 20 or 50 pages a day makes me feel like a brainlet;its not even hard philosophy or maybe even not "philosophy" at all, its Guenon....I also take notes and underline lines so that might contribute as-well, but if I don't write down notes I know for sure I wont remember as much as I want to.

Do academics and philosophers alike actually learn the languages needed to read the original text? Or do they just know how to read the language via a dictionary or something? I keep reading about certain philosophers reading philosophers with no translations and alien to their culture(i.e.Akutagawa reading Mainlanders work). How is this possible for these people to learn the languages and then be able to read the text fluently through such short academic careers? Am I assuming learning a language is too hard?
