I'm still adding to science topics on Wikipedia, but my giving up on it was on the day the George Floyd death story broke.
The Talk page infights of people in power on the sight bending over backwards in debates why the violent crimes of Floyd should not be mention due to not being relevant to the case at hand, while on the other hand defending that the article should include his rapping as a hobby etc... watching that debate unfold was the last drop in the bucket for me.
Thankfully I never had an account and the types of pages I edit don't interest political people
