Congrats OP, you've been red-pilled to literature. There are a bunch of shit authors that people pretentiously propound to be amazing, but in actuality, just plain suck.

Joyce is probably the number one figure. Sterne's Trstram shandy is another one. DFW is emerging only within a small realm (contemporary American fiction), but outside that sphere he isn't known widely. Achebe and Siad suck. Beckett kinda sucks, kinda doesn't. George Eliot is pretty sucky too. Keats sucks (only considered good because hurpa derpa tragic young death figure icon). Virginia Woolf sucks mega big time.
