The early periods of socialist nations don't really have the luxury of lofty fiction literature. Mass media exists but generally in the visual arts, this and your pics related. The USSR had a big thing for science fiction in later years, and of course there's later novels like the Master and Margarita (maybe not a "socialist" novel but not an anti-socialist novel either, as claimed). While not from a socialist country, Pablo Neruda is of course a magnificent poet.
