How about a bit of Hereticism involving Black Hole physics ?

>human brain is subject to the laws of physics
Biocentrism says it's the other way round, biological observers generate the Universe by constantly collapsing the wave function. Before observers, the universe was in an undetermined state of being.

> Humanity is a means for a super-intelligent AI to retroactively create itself.
So basically secular Teilhardism

Life is the movement against the gradient of entropy. Power is the active/sentient movement against the entropy gradient. Will has no meaning outside of the pairing with life or power. Unless you want to define your god of the gap with the will, but that's not Christianity, more like purified Teilhardism. You sure you want to bring a Jesuit into this ?

It's a movement against the Entropy gradient. Pretty important, considering everything else in the universe moves to more Entropy. Only works as long as Entropy is >0, so life is basically fucked. Unless you believe Teilhard de Chardin, but the guy was crazy and a heretic.

Nietzsche & Schop obviously for my side
Zapffe and Ligotti for the other side and because they are actually right
Teilhard de Chardin as the deist's advocate and also because madmen are fun
Hawkins is the butler because I like cruel jokes
Copnversation topic: Existentialism

Not exactly a book, but Teilhardism is as far as you can go as a jesuit physicist. The fun thing is, the God in Teilhardism is no longer Christian at all but some sort of eternal superintelligence.

Look, all I'm saying is the movie is utter crap and nothing can excuse that. There are better arguments for "God" than "Atheists are emo", though they have a tendence to be "God of the gap" arguments based on mathematics or physics on the limits of knowledge. Read some Teilhard, for Christ's sake.

Just finished reading Lem's Golem XIV for the fourth time maybe and I noticed something I didn't earlier. Lem was a Teilhardist. Golem XIV's prediction of the ultimate Intelligence settling at the Event Horizon of Black Holes because then it can increase it's processing power to the universal upper limit is the same as the Omega-point theory.

Father Teilhard approves of this thread.

Some consider Teilhard de Chardin (picrelated) as a heretic because he embraced the Omega-point concept. Basically he found a little nice place in Physics to put God in. Also calld Teilhardism.
