You will find that dealing with ribbons and reams is an absolute fuck you experience in 2019.

What you really want is an Alphasmart, these are lowkey the best austere word processor. Just takes some batteries and an SD card*, I used to use these in the military because it's a pretty forgettable device compared to a laptop or typewriter, as long as it has batteries (which last forever) and as memory card it can sit around under the dashboard and be picked up any time**

*You need an old one though, I'm a bit turnt atm and can't think straight but I discovered the hard way that these things don't work with 128mb+ SD cards for some reason so you need some old ass cards from amazon
**also apparently these devices are no longer supported as of 2013 (which is right around when I stopped using them regularly) so there's that, but you're still probably better off with this than a typewriter

What will probably happen is you get the typewriter, realize it's not helping you at all and you're better off with the PC, and now you have some analog junk sitting around that you paid too much for. PC will only distract you if you let it, typewriter (despite being admittedly cozy experience) won't change that ;)
