"And he never said a word" by Heinrich Böll. Reminds me of "Poor Folk" by Dostoyevsky in the sense that they're so fucking poor for gods sake, it makes me want to cry, specially when the wife talks about how they're loathed by the rich bitch only because they're poor and when the husband is so sorry for beating the children and needs to tell them that he's sorry. How can he not be sorry? He's so poor; just a frustrated poor man with no one to save him.
I also enjoy that the point of view changes per chapter between the husband and the wife. It's been a nice read.

Im more invested in looking like someone who enjoys literature and the arts in general than in actually enjoying it. I rather talk about books and poets than reading them
