re-reading is pretty much a must if you want to ‘understand’ a book. writing a short ‘review’ or diary ‘blurb’ to yourself whenever you finish something (first time or re-read) is also useful to record your own feelings and changes. then if you want to get more anal (correct anal?) do that, but for every chapter.
