No idea. I've never met anyone who did, but I found the concept fascinating after I got over my initial hygiene reaction to it.

I tried moving like a kamen rider character and it seems to work, people at least think I'm interesting even though the clear interpretation is that I'm an autistic fuck. False confidence fools most people and pretending you're using a body suit seems to help.

My mum's friend is an intelligent (by which i mean she has a high iq and is well read) psychoanalyst. She believes in spirits and we had a brief debate about it a few days ago - I'm coming from the position that spirits probably do not exist and the reason for people thinking they exists isn't founded on any kind of reliable knowledge e.g experience, let alone considering Kant's stuff.

She said she enjoyed the discussion and emailed my mum telling her to tell me to look into Heidegger, specifically his ideas about ontology and how it relates to "mystical experiences" (not her exact words, it was through a translation).

I don't have access to Being and Time so I watched a couple of youtube videos and read the wikipedia article.

From my limited understanding and our previous conversation it seems as though what she might be talking about is what I would call the "perceiver" in us. She seems to think that the perceiver or dasein (not sure if I'm using the term correctly here) is a metaphysical being or at least I think that's the angle that she's going to come from.

Could you guys offer some kind of insight into Heidegger work and how it could imply the existence of a "soul" or whatever.

Reading a book vs reading a professional cliff notes summary.

What's the difference, I mean honestly?

I get the plot, themes, quotations, character list, and axillary literary criticism.

Cliff notes books on novels= novels without filler.

Honestly.

Playwright thread.

Share your experiences writing plays. A gentle reminder to the janitor who has tried to ban me for making this thread, and who has deleted the previous burgeoning playwright thread; writing plays is not "off topic" and directly related to literature. Please respect the rules.

Anyway, to catch yourselves up on the thread that was deleted: >>/lit/image/uWsYtbA9IxciuE2uRejIrQ

To the person who wanted to know what my play "was about".

I can't tell you. If this thing ever gets produced and put on youtube, I will most definitely put up a publication for sale (signed by me ofcourse). In this publication I plant to write the drama behind writing the drama, which I think is just as good as the play itself--and something I think would make one of the most interesting things ever written in the English language.

Life is truly imitating art in my experience as a playwright.

Everything rests on this new actresses response to my proposal of her taking the role.

It could change my life, or break my dreams. Incredible...

>Does a triangle still have three sides if humans don't exist?
Yes, but the label doesn't?
And what's Plato got to do with anything? Unless you mean to say there's a revolutionary answer to this question you're gonna lay on me thanks to Plato, why couldn't it be a tree falling in a forest just because it came from Plato?

>>1. Unless you have some sort of morality-like law, you can't call anything efficient.
>to which I assume you attempted to contradict.
I just don't see where morality comes into it. Of course some human decides what to emphasize or discard but I don't see how that matters.

>It's ultimately that premise we should be referring back to (or perhaps whatever premise that was a response to)
Sure, and it's getting hard to go back and find each point as it weaves down the thread, so I appreciate the condensed reply. It's better than I could pull off.

I'm still open to reading suggestions. So that I might learn this stuff firsthand rather than get dragged through broken glass to this point or that point with lead questions. :(
