Cool cover OP. I can certainly see the appeal. I personally think pic related is the *best* edition of all of them. I have the 2007 edition with the blue and red lines

Do you think a certain degree of Infinite Jest's integrity is lost in the fact that nowadays we have google and wikis at our fingertips to explain every little thing we don't grasp from the book. We can do a quick search of every obscure reference so it's like we don't have to really try anymore.

Why do people think this book is "hard to read"?

I went through the first chapter and I don't find it hard to read at all. The only reason I could see people thinking this is challenging is if they were comparing it to grapes of wrath they read in highschool or vonnegut or something.

I think i figured out this book. It's joke. A joke on the so-called intellectuals. Everybody (who wants to seem smart or cultured or whatever) owns it. But they never read it. Or they are currently reading it but it's dragging on what seems like an eternity. That why it's an Infinite Jest
