Not really a painting... But suggest theological books, or books that relate to Christianity

So Aquinas makes the argument for God being a being of "actuality itself, without potentiality", containing with it all ontological perfections, it being without material or metaphysical body.

How does he go from that to applying Christian values? Natural Law?

>" Don't you know that when you sleep with someone, your body makes a promise whether you do or not. "

Do you agree with this?
Which book should humans derive their morals from?

I've read a few Cormac McCarthy novels and apparently they mostly all fall under the Southern Gothic banner. I think these settings in general are pretty great, the way southerners talk is always enjoyable to read, even if it's some dirty redneck.

So what are some other books I should look into?

OP, a big problem is that you're comparing yourself to others for the sake of the comparison itself. What probably once started as a search for truth, in your studying philosophy, has now become a vain wish to contribute and become important.

Just return to learning, instead of wanting to teach. You say it discourages you that there already is all this brilliance in circulation; benefit from that brilliance instead of disdaining it!

Let that ego go and focus on what's important, man.

Christianity, particularly the Catholic and Orthodox variety.

Christianity teaches that, at the end of time, THIS world will be raised 'from the dead,' and made perfect by a sort of union with Heaven. Then there will be a New Heaven and New Earth, crowned by a New Jerusalem. This current world won't go away, though it will 'pass away,' to use one of Paul's favorite phrases. There will be a rebirth and a rejuvenation of the material plane, and everything will be bright and beautiful in the light of Christ.

Oh, and everybody will get their bodies back, and those bodies will be in the peak of physical health and existence. That's, incidentally, why for a long time Catholicism forbade cremation. They thought a buried intact body was essential to the resurrection of the body, which they do still teach.

Hey /lit/ can a Christian become a buddhist and realize enlightenment?

Any books on this topic?
