I have only read two books cover to cover in about 5 years. Desert or paradise and teeming with microbes.
I used to read a lot as a kid then through high school I just read the necessities.
As a kid I read the Redwall series, chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter. There were many randoms that I can't remember mixed amongst those.
In high school I can remember my absolute favorite that I chose to read was the Swan song. Books I was required to read included the catcher in the rye and the stranger. Absolutely hated the former and lover the latter.
I'm going to spend about $200 on books to keep me occupied from my former degenerate lifestyle. Any recomendations from from fiction to educational is fine, just please leave a reason why you enjoyed it.
