The "illusion of free will" and the "actuality of free will" both refer to the same emergent macro process of weighing options and making decisions, so the question is one of meaningless semantics.

It's as though you're asking "is my arm real, or is it just an illusion made up of atoms?" The answer is "both and neither", but the "it is a functional arm that I can see" is the parsing that is useful for your day-to-day life as a human.

The illusion of free will would be indistinguishable from the reality of free will.

Therefore, the "reality" of free will is a nonsense question.
