Dan 8:3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

In Hebrew parables, a HORN is either a KING or a KINGDOM. This horn is Alexander.

In the end Alexander's generals would divide his Kingdom. Cassander in the West (Greece), Lysimachus in the North (Asia Minor), Ptolomy in the South (Egypt) and of course, the famous little horn that will soon be mentioned, Seleucid in the East (Babylon & Syria).

What this line is referring to is Zeus. Zeus bore Athena of his own, this was to show he was no man. This was how he overcame nature. The following lines are talking about his descendants that we know in Mythology.

For heroes in Greek mythology they did this through the attempts of cheating death. That's what this line is referring to. Gilgamesh is a good example of course. He had several trials in attempts to prove immortality. What we need to recognize is that this verse is speaking on how they were slaves in Egypt, but now are home.
